About My Work
My interest in art began at an early age. My artwork at that time (drawing, painting, welded sculptures, and constructions) was influenced by Joan Miro, Paul Klee, and Wassily Kandinsky. After moving to California, I began to take photographs on trips to the Sierra, Mount Lassen, Big Sur, and Point Reyes. Starting with landscapes and details of flora and fauna, my interest in doing photography of natural subjects as a way to express pure abstract form has increased over the years. I find the subtle and often unnoticed features in the natural world just as interesting as the more spectacular displays. I hope that you will be inspired by these images and that my photographs will create a sense of excitement about the beautiful colors, forms, and intricate patterns inherent in the most "ordinary" things."
